School Uniform

 What to wear

A picture of uniform for Year 3, 4 and 5.

Wearing school uniform establishes a strong group identity and sense of equality and helps to create a purposeful working environment. We encourage all children to take pride in their appearance and all children are expected to arrive for school smartly dressed in their school uniform. We believe a uniform helps to establish a strong community identity and supports the purposeful learning environment. The school is committed to working with parents to ensure that the correct uniform is worn by all children.

Please see our dress code policy for details of the uniform for each school. Dress Code Policy .  (There is a section for Merebrook Infant School, one for Emerson Valley School - note that Year 6 pupils wear a different colour sweatshirt.)

Naming Uniform

One of the biggest frustrations from parents is uniform not looked after by children and going missing. Please help your child out by labelling everything they bring into school including; coats, jumpers, PE jumpers, water bottles, lunch boxes, bags, trainers and shoes.

There are many ways to label items; stick in labels, permanent marker, sew in labels, stamps. Which ever you chose please check that the label is on the item before sending it back into school. If necessary name the item again. It is not easy to reunite a child with a burgundy school jumper when every child has the same one.
